Akpeyi Preparing To Jet Off To London After Receiving Good News From UK Embassy
Published: March 22, 2017
Chippa United goalkeeper Daniel Akpeyi is ready to take the next available flight to link up with the Super Eagles in London, allnigeriasoccer.com has been informed.
Immediately the British Embassy in South Africa opened their offices on Wednesday morning, a staff initiated a telephone call to Akpeyi, informing him that he should come and pick up his visa.
There are five flights today from Johannesburg to London, of which the earliest is a British Airways flight which will arrive the English capital on Thursday morning at 0530 hours.
Therefore, Akpeyi won’t participate in any training session with the national team before presumably making the bench against Senegal on Thursday evening.
The 30-year-old is not lacking match fitness, with 24 appearances under his belt for the Chilli Boys so far this season.
