Published: March 22, 2017
Allnigeriasoccer.com understands that Chippa United glovesman Daniel Akpeyi boarded a flight from Johannesburg to London at 2030 hours Nigerian time to link up with the Super Eagles.
And he could be in goal tomorrow against Senegal at the Hive Stadium, as Wolverhampton Wanderers star Carl Ikeme is a huge doubt after suddenly falling ill.
Akpeyi was delayed as a result of a visa hitch but managed to pick up the traveling document on Wednesday morning.
The former Warri Wolves goalkeeper will arrive in London at approximately 0700 hours on Thursday morning, and will have about twelve hours to psychologically prepare himself for the friendly against the West African opponents.
This is the second time in seven months that Akpeyi will arrive the venue of a match hours before kickoff, as he was a member of the Nigeria U23 squad at the 2016 Olympic Games in Brazil.
