Eagles Star Etebo Dismisses Fenerbahce Link : Nobody Met Me In London
Published: March 23, 2017Nigeria international Oghenekaro Etebo has dismissed reports linking him with a summer move to Turkish Super Lig powerhouse Fenerbahce.
It is claimed that the Yellow Canaries’ representative Hasan Cetinkaya met with Etebo in London on Wednesday and reached an agreement in principle with the C.D. Feirense attacking midfielder and his agent.
Ignoring the statements from Etebo, there are holes in the report because the player arrived the Crowne Plaza Hotel at about 2000 hours last night, while his bonafide intermediary is in Nigeria at the moment.
“I have had no contact with Fenerbahce, I just arrived in camp and I am surprised the information is all over the news, ” said Etebo to allnigeriasoccer.com.
“Nobody from Fenerbahce met with me since I came here. ”
Arsenal and Leicester City have both been credited with an interest in the former Warri Wolves star, but Kunle Soname, the President of C.D. Feirense, has informed this website that no official approach has been made.
Etebo has contractual obligations with the Portuguese setup until the end of the 2017-2018 season.
