Rohr Explains Why Nigeria Did Not Start At Full Throttle Against Senegal
Published: March 24, 2017
Nigeria manager Gernot Rohr has admitted that his team started slowly before gradually gaining momentum in the international friendly with Senegal on Thursday night.
The Super Eagles drew 1-1 with Senegal after Manchester City striker Kelechi Iheanacho scored a late equalizer .
“It is a fact that Leon (Balogun), (William) Ekong and Elderson (Echiejile) had not been playing regularly in their clubs, and even Kenneth (Omeruo) who had been active was played in a different role, ” Rohr stated.
“Musa and Kelechi had also not been playing much. So, it was tough for them at the start but they picked up well and showed good character.”
