Published: March 28, 2017
Super Eagles coach Gernot Rohr will return to Lagos next week ahead of June’s African Cup of Nations qualifier against South Africa.
The German tactician will run the rule over the top stars in the Nigerian Professional Football League while in the country.
“Our immediate focus and preparations are on the 2019 AFCON qualifiers against South Africa in June before the 2018 World Cup qualifiers in August, ” the Nigeria Football Federation said in a statement.
“Coach Rohr said he will be back in Lagos next week to watch some NPFL games and see some of our home stars in action as we continue to plan ahead”.
Gernot Rohr has turned around the fortunes of the Super Eagles since his appointment as coach in August 2016, with the three-time African champs winning three competitive matches and drawing once in a friendly versus Senegal.
The Super Eagles trained in London for six days during the international break in March.
