Sunderland Wonderkid Maja Fails To Turn Up For Super Eagles Practice Game
Published: March 28, 2017
Sunderland wonderkid Josh Maja did not turn up for the Super Eagles practice game at the Hive Stadium on Monday evening.
The striker was handed a late call-up to the Super Eagles get-together in London by the Nigeria Football Federation after vising the Crowne Plaza Hotel on Saturday night.
“Josh Maja was not even there at the Hive Stadium on Monday, maybe he could not make it down for the practice game, ”a top source close to the Super Eagles told allnigeriasoccer.com.
“It is true he visited the team but was not present at the training match.”
Born in London to Nigerian parents, Josh Maja made his first-team debut for Sunderland in their 2–1 victory over Queens Park Rangers in the League Cup in September 2016.
The 18-year-old had stops at Fulham and Manchester City before joining the Black Cats.
