For The First Time, Iwobi Returns To Arsenal Training Without Stress After Super Eagles Duty
Published: March 29, 2017
Alex Iwobi has shifted focus to his main employer Arsenal after international duty with the Super Eagles in the last one week or so.
For the first time since debuting for the three-time African champions, the Hale End Academy product won’t be stressed out hopping on a plane to return to the English capital as the Crowne Plaza Hotel, where the Super Eagles were based, is around the corner (21 miles) from Arsenal training ground in Hertfordshire.
Iwobi, a former England youth international, started Nigeria’s 1-1 draw with Senegal at the Hive Stadium, before featuring in Monday’s practice game between Super Eagles Team A and Team B.
“Nice Week Away With The Super Eagles , Now Back To Work With @Arsenal ðªð½ #COYG #BIG17, ” tweeted Alex Iwobi.
If the attacking midfielder is handed game time against Manchester City on Sunday, it would be his 39th appearance of the season for club and country.
