Monaco Loanee Echiejile Scores Against Spanish Opponents For Second Straight Season

Monaco loanee Elderson Echiejile opened his goalscoring account for Sporting Gijon in their 3-1 loss to Real Sociedad on matchday 31 in the Spanish La Liga on Monday night.
The Rojiblancos were three goals down but their Nigerian star pulled a goal back with with an impressive left footed shot from the center of the box in the 87th minute.
This is not the first time Echieijile has found the net against a Spanish opponent, the left back also scored the last goal while defending the colours of Monaco in their Champions League clash with Valencia back in the 2015-16 season.
The Super Eagle has struggled for game time this season as his appearance against Real Sociedad was his 13th in all competitions for Standard Liege and Sporting Gijon.
Sporting Gijon are in danger of relegation from La Liga with seven rounds left before the end of the season.
