West Ham, Man City, Chelsea Starlets Of Nigerian Descent Named In England Squad
Published: April 12, 2017Three players of Nigerian descent have been included in England U16s squad for the prestigious 45th Tournoi de Montaigu, taking place from April 7-18 in Montaigu, France.
Young Lions head coach Dan Micciche can count on the services of Ajibola Alese (West Ham), Nathanael Ogbeta (Manchester City) and Faustino Anjorin (Chelsea).
Arsenal trio Arthur Okonkwo, Xavier Amaechi and Bukayo Saka, Chelsea starlet Jordan Aina and Manchester City defender Edward Elewa-Ikpakwu have not been called up.
England, who have been drawn into Group B, were held to a 1-1 draw by Mexico in their first match, and will wrap up group play against Portugal on April 13.
The age cut-off for the competition is players born on or after January 1, 2001.
