Manchester United Nigerian Defender Adds Goals To His Game, Scores Messi-Like Goal
Published: April 17, 2017
American-born Nigerian starlet Matthew Olosunde has added goals to his game after emerging Manchester United U19s top scorer at the most prestigious youth tournament in the United States, the Dallas Cup.
Tommy Martin's side faced off against Chivas, Coritiba and Real Salt Lake in the competition, with Olosunde accounting for two of the five goals scored by the English team.
The United States youth-teamer's goal against Real Salt Lake was one of the goals of the tournament if not the best. He dribbled three RSL defenders after a fabulous run from left full-back before beating the goalkeeper.
Manchester United failed to progress to the knockout rounds after drawing 1-1 with Coritiba and Olosunde bagged his team's equalizer with a header in the 33rd minute.
The defender started all the three matches contested by Man Utd in America, while Nigerian-born midfielder Tosin Kehinde was named in the starting line-up against Chivas and Coritiba.
