Arsenal Striker Comes Close To Scoring First Goal For Republic Of Ireland Vs Czech Republic
Published: April 21, 2017Arsenal wonderkid Armstrong Okoflex started for the Republic of Ireland U15s in their 4-2 loss to Czech Republic in an international friendly held in Brozany nad Ohri on Thursday.
The 15-year-old striker was joined in the starting lineup by another player of Nigerian descent, Villa's Timi Sobowale.
With the scoreboard reading 2-2, Republic of Ireland were unfortunate not to take the lead when Okoflex shot narrowly wide in the 34th minute.
While he was replaced in the 41st minute, Sobowale was in action for the entirety of the game.
Both youngsters started Ireland's 4-1 thrashing of Norway at the invitational tournament in Prague.
