Argentina Make Roster Adjustment Again Ahead Of Nigeria Friendly
Published: November 04, 2017FC Zenit Saint Petersburg defender Emanuel Mammana has been summoned to the Argentinian national team for their international friendlies against Russia and Nigeria, the Argentina Football Association has officially announced.
Manager Sampaoli has handed a late call-up to the Zenit number 30 due to the withdrawal of Sevilla right back Gabriel Mercado.
Sevilla have confirmed that Mercado is suffering from an injury to his right hamstring and will not play against Barcelona on Saturday, November 4.
''Eduardo Berizzo will not have Gabriel Mercado at his disposal for tomorrow's match at the Camp Nou against FC Barcelona,'' Sevilla stated on their official webpage.
''The club's medics have confirmed that tests have revealed an injury to the player's right hamstring, ruling him out from playing in this Saturday's clash.
''Mercado will not travel to Argentina with his national squad, but instead, will stay put in Sevilla as he attempts to recover in time for the next league game against Celta Vigo on the 18th of November.
''What happens will depend on any progress made by the player in the coming days.''
Former Watford star Odion Ighalo has also withdrawn from the Nigeria squad after spraining his knee in his club's last league match.
