Injured Trabzonspor Midfielder Eddy Onazi Misses Super Eagles Final Workout Pre-Libya
Published: October 12, 2018Allnigeriasoccer.com understands that Eddy Onazi is doubtful to suit up for the Super Eagles when they take on Libya in an Africa Cup of Nations qualifier on Saturday.
The Trabzonspor midfielder suffered a training ground injury in the penultimate workout on Thursday and did not partake in today's session at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium.
Initial tests show that Onazi has suffered an Achilles injury which might rule him out of the match day four fixture against the Libyans on October 16.
The Super Eagles are short of personnel in midfield with skipper Obi Mikel opting not to be named in the squad due to fitness issues.
Rohr prefers to set up with two holding midfielders to protect the defense and Wilfred Ndidi is guaranteed a starting berth, meaning either Oghenekaro Etebo or John Ogu will partner the Leicester City star.
Onazi made his first start in five games in the Super Eagles 3-0 rout of Seychelles last month.
