Samuel Kalu was conspicuously missing from Bordeaux match day squad in their 3-2 win against Saint-étienne on Wednesday evening.

The Nigeria international was among four Bordeaux first teamers not available for selection on account of injuries, the others being Milan Gajić, Igor Lewczuk and Jaroslav Plasil.

Premier League pair Manchester United and Wolverhampton Wanderers posted their scouts to run the rule over the players on both teams.

Marseille, Rennes, Paris Saint-Germain and SD Eibar from Spain were the other teams present.

In 19 outings for Bordeaux in all competitions following his summer move from Gent, Kalu has scored only one goal.
