Official : Belgium U19 Star Of Nigerian Descent Extends Genk Contract
Published: January 28, 2019Belgium U19 international of Nigerian descent Shawn Adewoye has committed his future to Racing Genk by penning a new long-term deal.
The Belgian First Division A table toppers announced through their official website on Monday that Adewoye is now contracted to the club until the summer of 2023 after putting pen to paper on a four-year contract.
The 18-year-old is a central defender by trade but can be deployed as a right back and left back.
Adewoye first joined Racing Genk at U9 level, rising through the ranks before he was promoted to the U21 team and trained with the first team last summer.
He has cited Nigeria international Wilfred Ndidi, who used to play for Genk prior to his move to Leicester City, as one of his role models.
Adewoye has caps for Belgium's U15, U16, U17, U18 and U19 national teams.
