UEFA ASSIST Guatemala 1 Nigeria 5 : Amoo, Olusegun Among Five Different Scorers
Published: September 24, 2019Nigeria continued their preparations for the FIFA U17 World Cup with a 5-1 rout of Guatemala at the ongoing UEFA ASSIST U17 International Tournament in Turkey.
The Manu Garba-led side scored four goals in the space of nineteen minutes in the first half, which all but ended the game as a contest.
Olakunle Olusegun broke the deadlock as early as the fifth minute before Abdullahi Fawaz doubled the advantage in the 10th minute.
Goals from David Oduko and Olusegun in the 17th and 24th minute respectively saw Nigeria race into a 4-0 lead but the Central American country reduced the deficit before the first half ended.
Six minutes from time, Ibraheem Jabaar added more gloss to the scoreline.
In their first game, the five-time world champions defeated hosts Turkey 2-0 with Olusegun and Divine Nwachukwu getting on the scoresheet.
Nigeria U17s will wrap up group play of the UEFA ASSIST U17 International Tournament against Senegal on Thursday afternoon at the Technical Centre of Turkish Football Federation Riva.
