Nigerian Exports : Slavia's Olayinka, Partizan's Sadiq Score As New Records Are Set
Published: September 29, 2019Catch up on the Nigerian players on target for their respective clubs in league matches across Europe on Saturday, September 28.
Slavia Prague's Peter Olayinka celebrated his maiden call-up to the Super Eagles by netting the winner against Mladá Boleslav at the Sinobo Stadium.
Making his sixth start of the season, the number nine tallied his third league goal after 13 minutes.
A low cross from Masopust found Olayinka near the penalty spot and the Nigerian fired the ball into the top corner.
After 11 matches, Slavia Prague have conceded only two goals, a new record in the Czech Liga.
Elsewhere, Umar Sadiq took his tally for the season to six goals from 15 appearances in all competitions thanks to his brace against Radnicki Nis at Gradski Stadion Cair.
Natcho made it 1-1 when he converted a spot kick won by Sadiq in the 23rd minute, before the Roma loanee scored from close range to give Partizan the lead and got his second of the game when he produced a delicate chip over the goalkeeper in the 78th minute.
With six goals to his name, Sadiq broke his personal single-season scoring record, one more than his previous personal best of five he netted during a loan spell at NAC Breda in 2018.
In Hungary, Vincent Onovo has finally ended his goal drought after scoring in the 80th minute of Ujpest's 2-0 win against MOL Feharvar. The midfielder fired blanks in 55 previous matches.
