'Extraordinary' - Oliseh hails Ancelotti, Vinicius Jr. after Real Madrid's dramatic win against Bayern
Published: May 08, 2024
Former Super Eagles manager Sunday Oliseh labeled Carlo Ancelotti an 'extraordinary coach' after Real Madrid came from behind to beat Bayern Munich in the UEFA Champions League on Wednesday night.
Oliseh also made special shout out to Vinicius Junior who he feels is worthy of winning the Ballon d'Or for his role in ensuring Real Madrid knock Bayern Munich out of the competition in the semifinal.
The record European champions edged the Bavarians 2-1 in the second leg played at the Santiago Bernabeu to book their place in the final having won 4-3 on aggregate.
Courtesy of Alphonso Davies' goal in the 68th minute, Bayern Munich looked like the side heading to Wembley but the game turned on its head two minutes before stoppage time.
Substitute Joselu restored parity for the Los Blancos in the 88th minute after capitalizing on an error from Manuel Neuer and the Spain international would go on to grab the winner two minutes later after VAR intervention.
Reacting to the mouth watering encounter on his official X account, Oliseh saluted Real Madrid for their effort and gave special praises to Vinicius and Ancelotti.
"Wow! Extraordinary Ballon D'or worthy Vinicius jr + extraordinary coach Carlo Ancelotti + an absolute top Real Madrid!"
"Turned defeat to legendary victory in 3 Minutes !! I love Real's non stop variety football philosophy. A tactical blast watching Real Beat Bayern Munich."
The La Liga champions will now face Borussia Dortmund in the final on June 1 at the Wembley Stadium in England.
