Super Eagles player ratings: Ndidi pretty good; Lookman talisman; Boniface unlucky; Aina throw-in specialist

The Super Eagles were held to a barren draw by Rwanda in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations fixture played on Tuesday afternoon.

Allnigeriasoccer.com runs the rule over the Nigerian players in action.

The starters

Goalkeeper

Stanley Nwabali: The ever-reliable goalkeeper was largely untested though was forced to make a very good safe late on 7/10

Defenders

Semi Ajayi: The West Brom defender didn't have his feathers ruffled. He created two big chances which were wasted. 7.5/10

William Troost-Ekong: Like Ajayi, the skipper also didn't have to do a lot but made his physical presence felt by Rwanda forwards. 6.5/10

Calvin Bassey: The Fulham centre-back was great defensively, particularly when covering for Onyemaechi. 7.5/10

Midfielders and attackers

Bruno Onyemaechi: He was a constant outlet down the left flank and found himself in good goal scoring options but was wasteful. 6.5/10

Ola Aina: He was rock solid, most notably in the opening minutes of the game when Rwanda tried creating opportunities from his position, and his long throws were as threatening as ever. 7/10

Wilfred Ndidi: The Leicester City midfielder must have been disappointed to have been brought off. He was the best player on the pitch especially in the second half, won a lot of duels and created one big chance. 8/10

Fisayo Dele-Bashiru: He started the game slowly but gained his momentum, drifting forward with great strides and helping out defensively. 6.5/10

Samuel Chukwueze: He drifted into the central area often and looked lively before his substitution. 6/10

Victor Boniface: The Bayer Leverkusen striker was more active than he was against Benin and should have gotten on the clean sheet if not for the woodwork.. 6/10

Ademola Lookman: The Ballon d'Or nominee. is beginning to carve out a reputation for himself as the new talisman of the Super Eagles though he failed to convert the chances that came his way. Unfortunately denied a goal in the first half. 7/10

The substitutes

Victor Osimhen: Pressed well but failed to generate enough power and precision with the little opportunities that came his way. 5/10

Moses Simon: The Nantes' was lively and should have scored early in the second half. He linked up well with Onyemaechi and also offered support defensively. 5.5/10

Frank Onyeka: The Brentford loanee was energetic when he came on just like he did during the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations. 6.5/10

Raphael Onyedika: It was quiet but decent display from the Club Brugge midfielder 5/10

Taiwo Awoniyi: He came on very late to be assessed. NA
