Official: Napoli confirm signing of Nigerian forward from NWFL Premiership club
Published: September 28, 2024Through official channels, Italian Serie A Femminile eBay side Napoli have confirmed the signing of promising Nigerian forward Olamide Adugbe, who last wore the colours of Rivers Angels.
A week ago, seven-time NWFL Premiership champions Rivers Angels, announced the departure of Adugbe from the club, stating that she was moving to Napoli.
Adugbe was loaned out to Rivers Angels by parent club Naija Ratels, who are also a NWFL Premiership club.
Although Napoli have not disclosed the length of the contract, Rivers Angels had already revealed that she would be joining the Italian club for one year, with options for the 2025-2026 and 2026-2027 seasons.
Born in 2003, Adugbe has been allocated the number 17 jersey at Napoli.
In her first words as a Napoli player, she stated that she was delighted to be at Napoli, adding that she was committed to improving and hoped to achieve historic success with the club.
Adugbe has completed her move to Napoli ahead of one of the most highly anticipated fixtures of the new season, against the champions Roma at Stadio Tre Fontane on Sunday, September 29.
After three games in the division, Napoli are sitting sixth in the table with three points following losses to Fiorentina and Inter Milan, and a win in their last outing against Sassuolo.
