Arsenal's Nigeria-eligible midfielder joins Man Utd, Liverpool stars in Carabao Cup Team of the Round

Ethan Nwaneri has been recognized for his Man of the Match performance during the Gunners' 3-0 rout of Preston North End on Wednesday night, with Whoscored.com in partnership with the English Football League including the Nigeria-eligible attacking midfielder in the Carabao Cup Team of the Round.

The England U19 skipper netted his third goal as an Arsenal player in the convincing win against Preston North End at Deepdale Stadium.

Thirty-three minutes into the contest, Nwaneri curled in a superb effort to double the visitors' advantage

Arsenal have contributed the most players to the Team of the Round, with Jakub Kiwior, Raheem Sterling and Gabriel Jesus joining Nwaneri in the Best XI.

Casemiro and Bruno Fernandes are the Manchester United representatives, while players from Liverpool, Newcastle United, Southampton and Crystal Palace also made the cut.

Nwaneri was awarded a rating of 8.50 for his efforts in eighty minutes of action against Preston North End.

The Hale End Academy graduate registered a game-high five shots with two ending up in the back of the net. 

He completed 98.2 percent of his passes, touched the ball 73 times, completing two take-ons, and contributed defensively by winning two tackles.

Paul Onuachu, Joe Aribo, Lesley Ugochukwu, Dominic Iorfa, Gabriel Otegbayo, William Osula, Tosin Adarabioyo, Caleb Okoli and Jamaldeen Jimoh were all in action in the fourth round of the Carabao Cup.
