'Why not buy him?' - Mosconi names one player AC Milan should sign to replace Chukwueze

Italian journalist Matteo Mosconi has suggested that AC Milan should consider signing Domenico Berardi as a replacement for Samuel Chukwueze, whose performance at the club has yet to meet expectations.

Chukwueze, who joined AC Milan in the summer of 2023 after an impressive season with Villarreal, has struggled to adapt to Serie A.

The Nigerian winger enjoyed success at Villarreal, scoring 13 goals and providing 11 assists across all competitions in his final season with the club.

However, since his move to Milan, Chukwueze has managed only six goals and four assists in 54 appearances, leaving many questioning whether he can replicate his Villarreal form at the Italian giants.

The 25-year-old’s lack of consistency has led to growing speculation about his future at the club, with reports linking him to a potential move to several clubs.

A reunion with former Villarreal manager Unai Emery has been mentioned as a possible destination.

In a recent appearance on the Calciomercato.it YouTube channel, Mosconi shared his thoughts on AC Milan's situation, advising the club to explore the market for a potential replacement.

"I have a hope called Berardi. Why not buy him? You need a player on the right, given that Chukwueze isn't doing well, it's a market opportunity that you can exploit."

Berardi is a versatile forward capable of playing both as a center-forward and a right-winger.

He has been in impressive form in Serie A, contributing three goals and nine assists in ten league matches for US Sassuolo.
