Not Chelsea, Arsenal or Man Utd: Genk marksman Arokodare reveals his dream club
Published: April 13, 2025
While many players fantasize about a move to the English Premier League, Nigeria international Tolu Arokodare has his eyes firmly set elsewhere and it's not one of England's traditional powerhouses.
Chelsea, Arsenal, and Manchester United talent spotters were reportedly in the stands on Sunday as Club Brugge defeated Racing Genk 1-0 in a playoff clash at Jan Breydelstadion.
Scouts from the Premier League heavyweights were present to run the rule over the standout performers from both teams, with Super Eagles pair Raphael Onyedika and Tolu Arokodare among those under the spotlight.
Former Flying Eagles winger Yira Sor and Belgium U21 international of Nigerian descent Noah Adedeji-Sternberg were also on parade at Jan Breydelstadion.
According to Het Nieuwsblad, via Voetbal 24, Arokodare has revealed that Real Madrid is his dream club, even though a transfer to the Premier League is more realistic in the summer transfer window.
The Box2Box FC graduate has seen his stock rise thanks to an outstanding season, along with his debut for the Super Eagles last month.
With 18 goals and six assists to his name, Arokodare is the joint-top scorer in the Jupiler Pro League
Arokodare may be under contract with Genk until 2027, but behind the scenes, the club's board has accepted that a summer transfer is inevitable and is ready to cash in.
AC Milan, Juventus, Borussia Dortmund, and Real Sociedad scouts also monitored Arokodare during the Club Brugge versus Genk clash.
