Paul Onuachu continued his outstanding scoring form as Trabzonspor defeated Istanbul Başakşehir 4-2 in the Ziraat Türkiye Cup, with the Super Eagles forward extending his scoring streak to eight consecutive matches across all competitions. 

The Nigerian striker once again proved decisive after coming off the bench to help secure Trabzonspor’s place in the quarter-finals.

The match began with Trabzonspor showing attacking intent early, taking the lead through Felipe Augusto, whose early strike gave the visitors confidence in a challenging away atmosphere. 

Başakşehir responded strongly after the break, with Nuno da Costa leveling the score and later helping the home side momentarily regain control of the encounter.

However, Trabzonspor’s attacking depth and tactical discipline ultimately proved decisive in the closing stages of the match.

Onuachu was introduced in the 65th minute and immediately added physical presence to Trabzonspor’s forward line.

His decisive moment came in the 84th minute when he converted a well-worked attacking move with a composed finish, restoring Trabzonspor’s lead and maintaining his remarkable scoring momentum. 

The goal marked another important contribution from the 31-year-old striker, who has become one of Trabzonspor’s most reliable attacking weapons this season.

Late in the match, Trabzonspor sealed victory with another quick attacking move, ensuring a comfortable finish to a hard-fought contest.

The result helped Trabzonspor finish second in their group and progress to the knockout stage, while Başakşehir were eliminated from the competition.
