Liverpool loanee Taiwo Awoniyi and exciting Lorient youngster Terem Moffi could be in line for their first call-up to the senior national team, with Super Eagles coach Gernot Rohr revealing that he is keeping tabs on the two strikers.
While Union Berlin's Awoniyi has directly participated in eight goals (5goals, 3 assists) from 18 appearances in the German Bundesliga, Lorient new kid on the block Moffi has scored six goals while bagging an assist in the French top-flight.
Rohr has given no clue on the identities of the players he is monitoring in Austria and Czechoslovakia ahead of the upcoming 2021 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Benin and Lesotho.
"We have some new players perhaps can be scouted, some of them are playing in Germany, we have one in Union Berlin (Taiwo Awoniyi) which is a good team this season," Rohr said to Super Eagles TV .
"We have other players who are playing in France, Lorient (Terem Moffi). We have players who are doing well in Eastern Europe, also Austria, Czechoslovakia and we know all what they are doing.
"And each Monday we have our meeting by video conference with my staff and analyzer to see what exactly they did in the weekend."
Rohr is expected to announce his roster for the AFCON qualifiers by the end of this month.
