Gernot Rohr has insisted that Odion Ighalo's spot in the Super Eagles squad is not in jeopardy whether or not he switches clubs before the close of the Chinese transfer window on February 28.
Allnigeriasoccer.com can reveal that the Changchun Yatai frontman had already made up his mind to remain in China from the word go as the European teams interested in his services failed to meet his wage demands.
'We will see with Ighalo, I hope that he will change the club now to play, not to stay in the second division in China,'' said Gernot Rohr.
''If he has to stay in the second division in China and he's playing well, why not?
''He's doing so well for the Super Eagles, he scored so many goals and has confidence.
''We still need him but also in good fitness. He had a little injury on the knee, I hope he will be fit again and play in his club.''
Ighalo joined Changchun Yatai F.C on a 4+1 year deal in January 2017 and takes home approximately one million euros every month at the demoted club.
