Super Eagles forward Akor Adams has emphasized his commitment to helping Sevilla secure victories following their 1-1 draw against Rayo Vallecano on Sunday.
Speaking to the official website of Sevilla, Adams reflected on the result and his personal performance.
"I think every point is important at this stage of the season. We work hard to get them. We got a point. But there are many things to work on and improve to reach our goal of three points," he said.
The Nigerian striker also took personal responsibility for missed opportunities during the game.
"Yes, we're happy to have gotten a point, but not entirely, because I also take responsibility. There were many situations that could have put us ahead. We'll just work on that and we'll be better next time," Adams explained.
Adams, who ended a five-match La Liga goal drought in this fixture, spoke about the significance of his strike.
"For me, the most important thing is to win with Sevilla. I work hard every day to win matches," he said.
Reflecting on his role as a forward, he added: "Yes, scoring goals is my job. But at this stage of the season, it doesn't matter if Kike scores or if Lucien scores. In the end, we're a team. We need to get points. But seven goals... I think I should have scored more. So I'm grateful to God, but I'm not satisfied right now."
Adams opened the scoring for Sevilla in the 13th minute at the Ramón Sánchez Pizjuán Stadium, finishing clinically after connecting with a precise cross from César Azpilicueta.
With this strike, Adams has now taken his tally for the season to seven goals and three assists in 22 league appearances, reaffirming his role as a central figure in Sevilla’s attacking line-up.
