With a statement on the official website, EFL League One club Blackpool have announced the signing of 2019 Golden Eaglets invitee Malcolm Ebiowei.
By signing a two-year deal with the Seasiders, who have a club option for the 2027-2028 season, Ebiowei has ended his three-year association with Premier League side Crystal Palace.
The promising attacker joined the Eagles from Derby County and went on to make five appearances in all competitions, including three in the Premier League in his first season at Selhurst Park.
Due to a lack of first team opportunities, he spent time on loan at Hull City, RWD Molenbeek and Oxford United.
The versatile winger made his senior breakthrough at Derby County following stints with the academy teams of Chelsea, Arsenal and Rangers.
Under the guidance of then-manager Wayne Rooney, Ebiowei featured 16 times for Derby County during the 2021-2022 season, netting his first professional goal against Blackpool at Bloomfield Road.
His impressive displays earned him a move to Crystal Palace, who secured his services on a five-year deal after his contract with the Rams expired.
Ebiowei has become the sixth Nigerian youngster to leave Crystal Palace in the summer transfer window—either on loan or permanently—following the exits of Ademola Ola-Adebomi, David Ozoh, Owen Goodman, Victor Akinwale and Tayo Adaramola.
