Super Eagles captain, Wilfred Ndidi has returned to Istanbul to resume training with Beşiktaş J.K. ahead of the crucial Turkish Super Lig fixture against Göztepe S.K. at the Tüpraş Stadium on Sunday.
The Nigerian international was granted special leave by the club following the death of his father, Sunday Ndidi, who passed away in January after a fatal road accident.
The bereavement ruled him out of Beşiktaş' 3-2 away victory over İstanbul Başakşehir F.K. at the Başakşehir Fatih Terim Stadium last weekend.
After traveling to Nigeria to attend his father's burial and be with family members, Ndidi has now rejoined his teammates at the BJK Nevzat Demir Facilities.
Beşiktaş has released the latest training images on social media, showing Wilfred Ndidi fully engaged in the session under the guidance of head coach Sergen Yalçın.
The squad resumed preparations on Wednesday morning following a two-day break after their hard-fought win on Sunday.
Ndidi's return is considered a timely boost for the technical crew as Beşiktaş intensified their push for a European qualification spot.
His availability provides added depth and tactical flexibility in midfield, allowing Yalçın greater options in squad rotation as the season enters a decisive phase.
Since joining the Black and Whites last summer, Ndidi has featured prominently in the Super Lig, making 16 league appearances.
He has contributed one goal and one assist, while playing a key role in shielding the defense and dictating tempo from midfield.
