Stephen Makinwa Reveals He Tested With Crystal Palace

Former Nigeria international Stephen Makinwa has commented on the rationale behind the contract he signed with Chinese club Beijing Baxy.<br /><br />Recall that the 30 - year - old attacker penned a one- and - a - half year contract with the capital club in July, which ended his 12 - year adventure in Italy, where he represented amongst others Lazio, Chievo Verona and Genoa.<br /><br />&ldquo;When I heard about China I wanted to move immediately but I chose the ambitious team over the money.<br /><br />&ldquo;I was briefly on trial with Crystal Palace in England but they took a player from another side in the Premiership. <br /><br />&ldquo;For China I had just two options really, one was Chongqing F.C. and their offer was more than double Baxy&rsquo;s,&rdquo; Makinwa told goal.com.<br /><br />Stephen Makinwa has notched up four goals in his first nine games for Beijing Baxy, who are placed seventh on the log. <br />
