Super Eagles coach Eric Chelle is keeping tabs on Millwall dazzler Femi Azeez ahead of next month's Unity Cup in London.
Born in England twenty four years ago to a Nigerian father and Spanish mother, Azeez is eligible to represent all three nations internationally.
Ahead of the Unity Cup, Eric Chelle has stated his intention to comb Europe in search of new players of Nigerian descent to invite for the tournament at The Valley.
According to Colin Udoh of ESPN, the Malian tactician is closely monitoring Azeez with a view to handing him his maiden international call-up next month, with the former Reading attacker reportedly keen to represent the Super Eagles.
Azeez has enjoyed a breakout campaign for promotion-chasing Millwall, registering seventeen goal involvements in 33 league appearances and was named in the EFL Championship Team of the Season.
The flamboyant winger is represented by London-based agency ARETÉ, which also manages Wrexham goalkeeper Okonkwo—another player on Eric Chelle's radar.
Although it has been suggested that Everton midfielder Tim Iroegbunam is of interest to Chelle, he is unlikely to feature in the Unity Cup, considering the fact that he is provisionally cap-tied to England, unlike Azeez who is uncapped at international level.
