Super Eagles player ratings: Osimhen well done, Onyemaechi best game, Iwobi pre-assist king

Allnigeriasoccer.com presents the player ratings for the Super Eagles following their dominant victory over Algeria, a result that sealed Nigeria’s place in the semifinals of the tournament.

The starters

Goalkeeper

Stanley Nwabali (7/10): The Chippa United captain had a fairly quiet outing but will miss the semifinal clash against Morocco after picking up a yellow card.

Defenders

Bright Osayi-Samuel (8/10): The Birmingham City fullback delivered an excellent all-round performance, contributing effectively both defensively and in attack.

Semi Ajayi (7/10): The former Arsenal defender put in a solid and composed defensive display.

Calvin Bassey (8.5/10): The Fulham defender was dominant at the back and unlucky not to score in the first half.

Bruno Onyeamachi (8.5/10): A superb defensive performance that kept Riyad Mahrez quiet. He also provided the assist for Nigeria’s opening goal. Probably his best game in a Nigeria shirt. 

Midfielders and forwards

Wilfred Ndidi (7.5/10): Ndidi was solid in midfield before sustaining an injury that forced his substitution for Raphael Onyedika.

Alex Iwobi (9/10: Calm and composed in possession, Iwobi controlled the tempo and ensured Nigeria maintained midfield dominance. Provided the two pre-assists for Nigeria's goals. 

Frank Onyeka (7/10): The Brentford midfielder was energetic as ever and went close to scoring in the first half.

Ademola Lookman (7/10): Although he failed to score, the Atalanta forward remained a constant threat to the Algerian defense.

Victor Osimhen (9.5/10): A pivotal performance from Nigeria’s talisman. Osimhen both scored and assisted in the second half to inspire the Super Eagles to victory.

Akor Adams (8/10): The Sevilla forward redeemed an earlier missed opportunity by finding the back of the net and making a strong contribution.

The substitutes

Raphael Onyedika (6/10): Showed composure and calmness in possession after replacing Wilfred Ndidi.

Moses Simon (6/10): Came on in the second half for Frank Onyeka and added fresh legs on the flank.

Fisayo Dele-Bashiru (N/A): Introduced in the 86th minute to help Nigeria see out the game.

Chidozie Awaziem  (N/A): Replaced Akor Adams in the closing minutes.

Ogbu Igoh (N/A): Came on for Bright Osayi-Samuel late in the match.
