Super Eagles star Leon Balogun is heavily linked with an imminent transfer to Scottish Premiership giants Rangers.
Sky Sports is reporting that the Nigerian central defender is set to re-join Rangers pending a successful medical at the Ibrox club.
The Light Blues have delved into the free agency market after Leon King suffered an injury on Tuesday, which will rule the 19-year-old for a significant period of time.
Balogun is on the brink of returning to Rangers for a second spell having worn their colours for two seasons in the past.
The 35-year-old initially joined Rangers in the summer of 2020 on a one-year deal and extended his stay at the Ibrox Stadium the following season after starring as the Light Blues won the Scottish Premiership.
In his final season with Rangers, Balogun helped the club to the final of the Europa League before succumbing to a defeat from Jose Mourinho's Roma.
Overall, he logged 65 appearances for the Light Blues and directly participated in five goals (2 goals, 3 assists).
Balogun is set to be reunited with manager Michael Beale, with whom he worked at Queens Park Rangers and his first stint at Glasgow Rangers.
The former Brighton & Hove man took to social media to send a parting message to everyone associated with Queens Park Rangers on Wednesday morning, fueling speculation that a transfer is on the cards.
