Super Eagles watch: Arokodare assists, Ogbu returns, Ajayi back in matchday squad, Lookman in Copa del Rey final

Allnigeriasoccer.com's round-up of matches involving Nigeria internationals on Tuesday, March 3.

Centre-back Igoh Ogbu made his return from injury, featuring for SK Slavia Prague in their Czech Cup tie against FK Jablonec.

The 24-year-old centre-back played for over 105 minutes as he helped stabilize Slavia’s defensive line before being substituted during extra time.

The match ended 1–1 after regulation time, with goals scored by Suleiman and Mbodji for Slavia.

The game was eventually decided by penalties, with Slavia losing 3–2.

In England, Tolu Arokodare delivered an impressive performance as Wolverhampton Wanderers defeated Liverpool 2–1 at Molineux in Premier League Round 29.

The striker showed strength and pace to power past Virgil van Dijk before providing an assist for Rodrigo Gomes, who calmly chipped the ball over Alisson to give Wolves the lead in the 78th minute.

Mohamed Salah later restored parity after intercepting a loose pass inside Wolves’ half.

However, Wolves secured a dramatic victory in stoppage time when André’s long-range strike deflected off Joe Gomez and found the net.

Meanwhile, Semi Ajayi was included in the Hull City squad for their match against Ipswich Town as he continues his recovery from a hamstring injury sustained during the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations with the Super Eagles in Morocco.

The defender did not play in the match as Hull City suffered a 1–0 defeat.

The only goal of the game came from Azor Matusiwa, condemning Hull City to a narrow loss.

Elsewhere, Ademola Lookman and Atletico Madrid survived a scare to qualify for the final of the Copa del Rey for the first time in thirteen years, despite losing 3-0 to Barcelona at the Spotify Camp Nou.

With Lookman featuring for 58 minutes before making way for Koke, Barcelona's victory proved insufficient to overturn a 4-0 first-leg deficit.

A double from Marc Bernal, coupled with Raphinha’s composed finish from the spot, saw the Blaugranes come tantalisingly close to an unlikely comeback.
