England continued their impressive run in the Toulon Tournament with a magnificent 4-0 victory over their last group opponents, Qatar at the Stade Parsemain on Friday evening.
While Chelsea defender, Fikayo Tomori was among the substitutes for the game, the other two players of Nigerian descent who were in the young Three Lions starting XI, the duo of the Blues' Tammy Abraham and Manchester City's Lukas Nmecha, were instrumental to the huge win.
For Abraham, the 20-year old striker hit his second goal of the tournament for Aidy Boothroyd's men in the 56th minute, taking a pass from teammate, Adam Armstrong to coolly slot past Qatar goalkeeper, Shehab Mamdouh, making the scoreline 3-0 in the process.
Abraham earlier opened his account in the first group game when they beat China 2-1, with the youngster bagging a goal and an assist.
His teammate, Nmecha will feel aggrieved after coming very close to getting one for himself in the match but his goal-bound 37th minute header was turned in by one of the opposing defenders.
The No. 20 made way for Kieran Dowell after 72 minutes of good play while Abraham, donning the No. 9 jersey was replaced by Callum Connolly two minutes from time.
Boothroyd's men are tied on seven points with Mexico after two wins apiece and a draw and will now progress to the next round of the competition.
