Former Chelsea technical director Michael Emenalo is hoping to persuade Russia 2018 World Cup star Aleksandr Golovin to snub a move to Premier League duo Chelsea and Arsenal.
The retired Nigeria international has overseen the arrivals of U23 players Antonio Barreca (Torino), Tiago Ribeiro (Porto), Eliot
Matazo (Anderlecht), Jonathan Panzo (Chelsea) and Robert Navarro
(Barcelona) to Monaco in the summer transfer window.
In addition, Ronaël Pierre-Gabriel (Saint-étienne), Sofiane Diop (Rennes), Wilson Isidor (Rennes), Samuel Grandsir (Troyes) and Willem Geubbels (Lyon) were signed from French clubs.
Monaco vice-president Vadim Vasilyev has revealed that the Principality outfit are working on a deal to sign Aleksandr Golovin and the midfielder has been offered a multi-year contract.
''I cannot say the amount of the transfer, but it is a worthy fee. The duration of the contract? Five years.
''I think in this situation a move to Monaco is the correct option for Golovin.''
Emenalo was appointed Monaco sporting director in November 2017, he is responsible for all sporting matters at the Ligue 1 club and reports to Vadim Vasilyev.
