Two Nigerian forwards nominated for Premier League 2 Player of the Month

The Premier League has revealed an eight-player shortlist for the Premier League 2 Player of the Month award, with two Nigerians making the cut.

Manchester United forward Victor Musa and Brighton & Hove Albion winger Nehemiah Oriola have both been named on the shortlist for March's Premier League 2 Player of the Month award.

Musa started all the games played the Red Devils in the Premier League 2 , playing all but seven minutes in those games.

The 19-year-old scored three goals in the division in March, notching a brace against Southampton, before netting a first half winner in a 1-0 victory versus Reading.

His impressive form did not go unnoticed by Manchester United's first team boss Michael Carrick, who named the Spanish-born forward in his squad for a training camp in Dublin last week.

Oriola has been nominated for the PL2 Player of the Month award after scoring three goals and assisting once in four appearances last month.

The 18-year-old shone in a 2–0 win at Burnley on March 16, scoring and assisting, and continued his impressive run with a brace six days later in a 5–0 rout of Everton.

Oriola has been called up for seven Premier League games this season, making his senior debut against Leeds United in November 2025.

In their bid to win the award, Musa and Oriola face competition from Middlesbrough duo Frankie Coulson and Jack Daley, Sunderland's Charlie Dinsdale, Chelsea pair Ryan Kavuma-McQueen and Harrison Murray-Campbell and Liverpool midfielder Kieran Morrison

The nominees for this award have been selected by the Premier League Football Development Panel, who will also decide the winner on a date to be decided.
