'Unless something unexpected happens' - Tuzemen confident Osimhen will face Fenerbahce

Turkish pundit Levent Tüzemen has backed Victor Osimhen to be on the pitch on April 26 when Galatasaray take on Istanbul rivals Fenerbahce in the Intercontinental Derby.

The Nigeria international sustained a fractured forearm after an aerial challenge with Ibrahima Konaté during Galatasaray's Champions League encounter with Liverpool at Anfield on March 18.

Osimhen attempted to pay through the pain barrier but had to be substituted at half-time.

Last week, the Super Eagles striker underwent successful surgery at Maslak Acıbadem Hospital, with the procedure carried out by Yener İnce, the club’s doctor.

The initial prognosis suggests that Osimhen could be sidelined for five to six weeks, leaving him in a race against time to be fit for the derby.

However, Tüzemen has expressed confidence in Galatasaray’s medical staff and has tipped Osimhen to make the starting line-up against Fenerbahçe.

In quotes relayed by haber sarikirmizi, he explained: "Unless something unexpected happens, Osimhen will be in the starting eleven for the Fenerbahçe match. There's an old saying in Turkish: 'A broken bone heals in as much time as the person's age.'

"Based on this, and valuing the technological advancements in modern medicine and believing in Galatasaray's successful doctor, Yener İnce, I think Osimhen will be on the field in the derby."

This season, Osimhen has recorded 38 goal involvements (28 goals, 10 assists) in 39 games for club and country.
