Argentina booked their place in the knockout rounds following their hard-fought 2-1 win over Nigeria in St. Petersburg on Tuesday night.
If Turkish referee Cuneyt Cakir had awarded a second penalty to Nigeria in the 75th minute, it could have been a completely different story.
Nigeria were organized for a long period of time in the second half until the 86th minute when Manchester United's Marcos Rojo netted the winner for Argentina.
''To say I am devastated would be an understatement. The boys gave absolutely everything and I wish it could have led to us going through,'' Moses posted on Twitter.
''I am proud to be a part of this team though and I proud to be Nigerian. Thank you to the whole country for the incredible support. â¤ï¸ðŸ‡³ðŸ‡¬.''
Moses, who attended his second World Cup in Russia, started all three matches played by the Super Eagles.
