'We know what can happen' - Championship POTM Azeez calls for humility as Millwall chase PL promotion

Millwall winger Femi Azeez has stressed the need for humility as the Lions aim to convert a strong season into Premier League promotion.

After years of near misses in the play-offs, the club finds itself in a genuine position to secure automatic promotion, with momentum firmly on their side.

Azeez, who was recently named Championship Player of the Month for February 2026, emphasized the importance of keeping the squad grounded, noting that focus and discipline will be key to sustaining their impressive form.

Speaking to Sky Sports about the atmosphere and mood at Millwall as the team pushes for Premier League promotion, Azeez highlighted the positive environment within the squad.

He said: "The feeling around the club and around the changing room is definitely positive."

Regarding the team’s focus and approach as the season progresses, he added: "If we continue doing what we do, then we know what can happen."

On maintaining focus, the forward explained: "If we think about promotion or getting to the next level I think we can get ahead of ourselves. We've got to stay humble."

He concluded with a note of confidence in the squad’s leadership and collective spirit: "But with the gaffer and the lads in the changing room we will."

Azeez has directly participated in sixteen goals from twenty-seven Championship appearances so far this season.

Millwall are currently 4th in the league standings, with 68 points from 38 matches, placing them inside the play‑off positions as the race for promotion enters its decisive stage.
