Atalanta's Belgium international attacker Charles De Ketelaere has praised Ademola Lookman for his impressive performance against Eintracht Frankfurt in their last outing in the UEFA Champions League.
The former African Footballer of the Year was the star of the show as the Bergamo outfit thrashed the Bundesliga club, scoring and registering an assist in a 3-0 victory.
Against Eintracht Frankfurt, manager Raffaele Palladino deployed the same three-man attack that started the 2024 Europa League final in Dublin, with Lookman lining up alongside Gianluca Scamacca and Charles De Ketelaere in a fluid front three.
Speaking at Monday’s pre-match press conference, the Belgian insisted that Lookman’s influence could prove decisive on Tuesday night when Atalanta face world champions Chelsea on matchday six of the Champions League.
When asked to share his thoughts on Scamacca, Charles De Ketelaere replied: "Very good. In Frankfurt, we returned with the same three-man attack from the Dublin final, along with Lookman, and we played well together. He's improving, and I'm happy for him."
Lookman has enjoyed an excellent run of form in the Champions League, registering nine goal involvements—six goals and three assists—in his last ten matches.
However, the 28-year-old failed to score in each of his five previous appearances against Chelsea during his time in England.
