Bournemouth winger Arnaut Danjuma has admitted that he is considering ditching the Netherlands national team and switching his allegiance to the Super Eagles.
The Cherries number 10 is in the form of his life at the moment, with a goal involvement of thirteen (8 goals, 5 assists) in his last ten appearances in the Championship.
Born in Lagos, Danjuma was never invited to the Nigerian National Team before he became cap-tied to the Netherlands, playing the last 22 minutes of a UEFA Nations League match against Germany.
FIFA's new rule states that players can switch nationalities provided that they have not played more than three games for their other nation before turning 21.
"I think they are interested but obviously I play for the Dutch national team already, I scored for the national team already, so I’ve made that decision," Danjuma said to the Daily Echo.
"With the choice, I would like to represent Holland as well but then again I’m not being called up at the moment.
"So on the back of that, maybe I need to make some decisions.
"I’ve played for Holland at senior level. One cap in the Nations League and one against Belgium but that wasn’t an official match. They have changed the rules so, if you have one cap, you can still change.
"It isn’t a decision I can make just in a split second. I need to think about it. "
Danjuma was born to a Nigerian mother and Dutch father, who lived in Nigeria for twenty three years.
