Wilfred Ndidi was among the Leicester City players singled out for praise by Foxes legend Tony Cottee as he analyzed Brendan Rodgers first full season in charge at the King Power Stadium.
Playing as a holding midfielder, the Nigeria international has been central to the success of the Northern Irishman and no wonder Leicester City struggled to win games when he was recovering from a knee injury.
Putting the players under the microscope, Cottee described the combative midfielder Ndidi as having an effect on the whole team.
"As an ex-forward, I’ve been a huge fan of Vardy ever since he joined and he’s had another sensational season as top goalscorer," Cottee told Leicester City's official webpage.
"James Maddison and Harvey Barnes have been excellent in terms of creation and then you’ve got the effect of Wilfred Ndidi on the team and the whole of the back four have been outstanding.
"I’ve not even mentioned the goalkeeper, Kasper Schmeichel. It’s been a real fantastic team effort to get the Club where they are, there’s been five or six outstanding players."
In the current season, Ndidi has appeared in 23 Premier League matches for third placed Leicester City, logging 1,892 minutes.
