Aston Villa youngster Jamaldeen Jimoh-Aloba is close to completing a loan move to Championship side West Bromwich Albion before the close of the winter transfer window, according to The Athletic.
An England U20 international of Nigerian descent, Jimoh-Aloba was on the books of West Brom for a decade before he was acquired by Aston Villa in 2023.
The 19-year-old has enjoyed a rapid rise this season, impressing with Villa’s youth teams before earning opportunities at senior level.
His progress was capped by a Premier League debut against Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium, highlighting the club’s growing trust in his abilities.
Jimoh-Aloba made headlines last Thursday in the UEFA Europa League, scoring his first senior goal at Villa Park as Aston Villa fought back to secure a 3–2 victory over Utrecht.
The performance further underlined his potential and sparked interest from several English clubs seeking reinforcements for the remainder of the campaign.
Despite the attention, the highly rated midfielder has prioritised a return to West Brom on loan for the rest of the season.
The Baggies are understood to have reached an agreement with Aston Villa, with an official announcement expected imminently.
If finalised, the move is expected to provide Jimoh-Aloba with regular first-team football, aiding his development while strengthening West Brom’s push to stabilise their campaign and avoid relegation to League One.
