Ansarudeen are 2015 Kogi FA U13 Cup champions, Qualify for Channels Kids Cup
Ansarudeen Primary School, Lokoja U13 boys defeated Saint Luke Primary School, Lokoja 2-1 to emerge champions of the 2015 Kogi U13 Football Association Cup played at the Kogi Confluence Stadium on Friday.<br /><br />Goals from Muhammed Sani and Mamud Ali helped the Ansarudeen boys to come back from a goal behind to overcome their Saint Luke counterparts despite Suleiman Yakubu’s lone strike in Lokoja.<br /><br />Yakubu gave Saint Luke Primary School an early lead before Mohammed Sani levelled before the break to ensure the half time scoreline ended at 1-1.<br /><br />In the second half, it was Ali’s solitary effort that settled the encounter helping Ansarudeen snatch the winner to ensure his side claimed the coveted maiden trophy with 2-1 victory.<br /><br />Earlier, Ansarudeen defeated Grace International 3-0 in the first round before earning a 2-0 semi-final win over Baptist Primary School played at the Lokoja Township stadium.<br /><br />The first ever age-grade football competition in Kogi, which is organised by the Kogi Football Association in collaboration with the state chapter of the National School Sports Federation.<br /><br />Primary Schools that participated in the maiden kids championship are Holy Trinity, Saint Luke, Ansarudeen, Grace International, Baptist and Saint Mary - all based in Lokoja.<br /><br />The six-team knockout football competition which was sponsored by the state Board of Internal Revenue attracted at least 108 pupils from the state capital, Lokoja.<br /><br />Ansarudeen will represent the state at the national finals of the Channels Kids Cup in Lagos.<br /><br /><br />
