Arsenal's run of four successive wins in all competitions ended on Thursday night following their goalless draw with Crystal Palace at the Emirates Stadium.
The Eagles manager Roy Hodgson stayed true to his words on Eberechi Eze by naming the Anglo-Nigerian attacking midfielder in the matchday squad and the former Arsenal trainee put in an impressive 90-minute shift.
Palace were unlucky not to go into the break with the lead as James Tomkins hit the woodwork after meeting Eze's pinpoint delivery from a free-kick while Benteke forced a great save by Leno from close range.
The Gunners, who have improved defensively lately, upped the tempo in the second half but could not find the breakthrough, with Hector Bellerin and Rob Holding coming close.
Speaking shortly after the game, Eze admitted that he was delighted that Crystal Palace took a point from the London derby and acknowledged that Arsenal are a strong team.
The number 25 told Sky Sports : "We'll take it, we worked hard and showed our quality on the ball as well. We played well and we deserved a point.
"In these type of games you need those chances to go in. Arsenal have loads of quality, you always have to be alert.
"With the momentum we have now we can just keep going."
In terms of the Premier League table, Arsenal remain eleventh with 24 points from eighteen games while Palace are thirteenth on 23 points.
