PAOK came from a goal down to defeat OFI Crete 3-1 in a Greek Super League clash at the Stadio Toumbas (Thessaloníki) on Saturday, with Super Eagles hopeful Chuba Akpom among their scorers, allnigeriasoccer.com reports.
The Arsenal Academy product netted a potential match-winner in the first minute of second half stoppage time, sending the goalkeeper the wrong way to score a penalty, before Omar El Kaddouri sealed the win in the 98th minute.
This is the first time in Akpom's professional career that he has managed to record double digits for goals in a single season, with his strike vs OFI Crete taking his tally to 10 in all competitions.
The 24-year-old has tallied 8 goals in the league including the playoffs, and netted one goal each in the Kypello Elladas and Champions League qualifiers.
Prior to the 2019-2020 campaign, Akpom's most productive season in terms of goals was the 2018-19 campaign, his maiden season in Greece, when he netted eight goals in all competitions.
A prolific scorer for Arsenal's youth teams back in the day, the Hale End Academy product has switched his international allegiance from England to Nigeria.
