Chicago Fire Striker Igboananike Nominated For MLS Goal Of The Week

Chicago Fire Designated Player Kennedy Igboananike narrowly missed out on the ceremonial Team of the Week for last weekend&rsquo;s matches in Major League Soccer.<br /><br />In a 4-4-2 formation, Shkelzen Gashi(Colorado Rapids) and Orlando City&rsquo;s Brazilian star Kaka were chosen to lead the frontline, with Igboananike only making the bench.<br /><br />The Nigerian attacker helped Chicago Fire beat Philadelphia Union 1-0 , scoring his second of the season in the 51st minute with a left-footed finish after he was teed up by Michael Harrington.<br /><br />His goal against Philadelphia Union is one of the eight strikes nominated for the Goal of the Week and he&rsquo;ll square off against Patrick Nyarko in the first round of voting.<br /><br />Adam Jahn(<span class="st">San Jose Earthquakes),</span><span>Luke Mulholland(RSL), </span><span>Luis Solignac(</span><span>Colorado Rapids),Justin Meram(Crew SC) and Orlando City pair Brek Shea and Kaka have also been shortlisted for the award.<br /><br />Igho Kingsley<br /><br /></span><br />Photo Credit : mlssoccer.com
