Confirmed: Akor Adams, Ejuke await new coach as Sevilla part ways with Almeyda

Super Eagles forwards Akor Adams and Chidera Ejuke will now continue their careers under a new coach following Sevilla FC’s decision to part ways with Matías Almeyda.

The Argentine coach leaves the Ramón Sánchez-Pizjuán Stadium after managing 32 official matches, 29 in LaLiga and 3 in the Copa del Rey, following his arrival at the Nervión club in the summer of 2025.

In an official statement on the club website, Sevilla thanked Almeyda for his contributions and announced his departure as part of a plan to provide the team with a new direction.

His tenure included notable victories, but inconsistent results ultimately led to the decision to part ways.

For Adams and Ejuke, the coaching change marks a new chapter as they continue their responsibilities for both club and country.

Akor Adams, Sevilla’s leading scorer this season with seven goals, and Chidera Ejuke have been central to the team’s attack, and working under a new coach presents an opportunity to build on their strong performances in LaLiga.

The duo are also expected to join the Super Eagles training camp in Antalya, Turkey, this week ahead of international friendly matches against Iran and Jordan.
