With a statement on their official website, Chelsea have confirmed that promising goalkeeper Lucas Bergstrom has committed his future to the club by putting pen to paper on a new contract.
The new agreement between club and player will see Bergstrom remain at Stamford Bridge until at least June 30, 2024.
Signed from Turun Palloseura during the 2018-19 season, the 18-year-old has appearances under his belt in the U18 Premier League, Premier League 2, FA Youth Cup and EFL Trophy.
"It’s all I want to do, play football, and with the contract extension it allows me to continue playing the game at a really high level," Begstrom said.
"It’s something me and my family are proud of, it gives me the opportunity to keep working hard and improve, that’s all I want to do.
"Having more years developing at Chelsea will let me keep doing what I love."
Bergstrom has represented his native Finland at U16 and U17 levels.
